Russia increased dairy exports to China by 1.8 times in January-July
In January-July 2024, Russia sharply increased its supplies of dairy products to China – by 1.8 times year-on-year. This was reported by Maria Zhebit, Deputy Director General of the National Union of Milk Producers (Soyuzmoloko), quoted by “Interfax”.
The volume of exports exceeded 8 million dollars, she said. At the same time, the main volume of deliveries, more than 40 percent, is dry dairy products. About a third of the volume of dairy exports of the Russian Federation to China is ice cream. Some Russian producers have started selling cheese to China, Zhebit added.

Soyuzmoloko notes that the Chinese market is interesting for companies from Russia, but they need to be prepared for serious competition on price, since global giants have been operating in China for a long time. Russian suppliers can gain an advantage due to the weakening of the ruble and compensation for logistics costs, Zhebit believes.
Earlier it became known that milk was among the most frequently checked products by Russians through the Honest Sign program. According to the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), over 43 million products were checked in the first six months of 2024. Of these, dairy products accounted for 11.5 million checks.
