On Sunday The cyclists who won the Tour de France Tadej Pogacar miss the Olympics. The Slovenian Olympic team announced the matter on Monday.
Pogacar was said to be so tired that he is skipping the Olympics to focus on the road cycling world championships in September.
“Unfortunately, he has canceled his participation due to extreme fatigue,” the cycling coach of the Slovenian Olympic team Male Murn told.
Pogacar is a bronze medalist from the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. The victory of the Tour de France was already his third.
In May, Pogacar drove the Tour of Italy to victory. The 25-year-old Slovenian became the first man since 1998 to win both of cycling’s biggest races in the same season.
