The next big video game event is the Gamescom 2024 which will be opened byONL, Opening Night Live, by Geoff Keighleywhich also runs The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest. As is typical for these events, video game companies and others will be able to use advertising space to showcase their products.

Opening Night Live Ad Prices
According to the official Gamescom website, if you want a 120-second slot during the main event you have to pay 265,000 euros. If 90 seconds are enough for you, the price is 215,000 euros. If you go down to 60 seconds, the figure becomes 165,000€. Finally, for just 30 seconds you have to invest 115,000 euros.
If these figures seem exaggerated to youyou should know that they are not, at least according to the interesting companies. At the time of writing, in fact, all the advertising spaces for the show are taken and it is no longer possible to buy them. All that remains are the pre-show advertising spaces, whose prices are lower also because it is not shown to the people present live but only online:
- 30 Sec – 57.500 EUR
- 60 Sec – 82.500 EUR
- 90 Sec – 107.500 EUR
- 120 Sec – 132.500 EUR
Let’s remember that in the case of the Summer Game Fest we were talking about over 230,000 euros for one minute of advertising and if you wanted two and a half minutes the figure went up to over 450,000 euros.
It should be noted that some trailers are not advertisements and there is no cost to air the video during the ONL: this is fortunate, since these figures would make it impossible to see indies and low-budget projects on these shows, since an advertisement costs more than the development of some small video games.
