The launch of the SU7 marked the entrance of Xiaomi in the automotive sector. Now, less than a year after the debut of the SU7, the Chinese smartphone giant presents the Ultraahypercar with over 1,500 HP which aims to establish new EV record at Nürburgringboth in the prototype category and in the series electric category.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Features
There Xiaomi SU7 Ultra It features a three-engine configuration: a front one called “V6” enhanced and two rear engines called instead “V8”each with 586 HP and 635 Nm of torque, for a total power of 1,570 HP.
This car surpasses the Porsche Taycan by 446 hp, which holds the record at the NürburgringAccording to Xiaomi, the SU7 Ultra accelerates 0 to 100 km/h in 1.97 secondsreaches 200 km/h in 15.07 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h.
The SU7 Ultra features numerous new features compared to the road version: bodywork entirely in carbon fiber with aerodynamic appendages, generating 2,145 kg of downforce.
The passenger compartment has been lightened by removing the air conditioning system and replacing components with composite materials. The braking system is from AP Racingwith six-piston calipers and ventilated discs, which together with the regenerative braking produce up to 2.36 g of deceleration.
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra battery for the track
Xiaomi has not declared the battery capacity of the SU7 Ultra, but has specified that it is a CATL Qilin II rechargeable battery. 0 to 80% in 12 minutes thanks to the architecture from 897 Volts. A capacity of 101 kWh is assumed, as in the Max version.
The SU7 Ultra can generate almost 1,100 HP even with 20% battery chargemaking it suitable for long track sessions, as long as the software effectively manages the powertrain temperature.
Xiaomi record attempt at Nürburgring
Xiaomi’s electric hypercar aims to beat the Nürburgring record for non-series electric vehicles, currently held by the Volkswagen ID.R with a time of 6 minutes, 5 seconds and 336 thousandths.
The prototype will attempt the feat in October. In 2025, however, the production version will challenge the time of Taycan Turbo GT.
