Donnarumma, Guardiola’s Manchester City thinking about Gigio if Ederson leaves
Gigio Donnarumma preparing for the jump to the Premier League? Pep Guardiola he is thinking of him to defend the goal of the ManCity self Ederson should leave with destination Saudi Arabia (Al-Ittihad is thinking of him after the deal with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr fell through).
The transfer market bomb comes from England and according to the Daily Express, the number one of the Italian national team – fresh from a great Euro 2024, where he was the protagonist in all the matches, including the one that sanctioned the elimination against Switzerland – has entered the sights of Citizen (in early June there were rumours about Mike Maignan which have not been confirmed up to now).
Donnarumma-Manchester City, how much is Gigio’s price tag worth?
The salary that Donnarumma takes at PSG – around 12 million euros – does not scare Manchester City. Nor does the price tag that rises to around 60 million. But there it will be necessary to eventually go through a negotiation with PSG who have a contract with Gigio until 2026 (and before the European Championships there were rumours of a possible renewal).
Donnarumma-Psg, the competition of Safonov (and Tenas)
Paris Saint Germain – who signed Donnarumma on a free transfer from Milan in 2021 – is still very strong in the goalkeeping department, having acquired the talented 25 year old Matvey Safonov (curiously born on the same day as Gigio, February 25, 1999) investing 20 million euros to snatch it from Krasnodar (second in Russia behind Zenith St. Petersburg and with 11 clean sheets in 29 games this year). Not forgetting the Spaniard Arnau Tenas who played only 6 games last season, but is highly regarded by Luis Enrique also for his footwork (and has already rejected loan requests from Spanish clubs).
Donnarumma is happy at PSG, but the call from Manchester City and the Premier League could become irresistible in this hot summer of transfers…
