The fourth generation of BMW X3 officially debuts, one of the most important models within the German brand’s range. The renewed SUV will arrive on the market in the last months of 2024, with the price list for Italy which has not yet been disclosed although the price for Germany will start from 57,200 euros and rise up to 82,500 euros depending on the versions.
Design and dimensions
The new BMW X3 grows first and foremost in size, with 34 mm more length than before. It thus reaches 4.75 meters while remaining unchanged in pace, stuck at 2.86 metres. However, the width has increased, reaching 1.92 metres, with 29 mm more than before, while the height has decreased, now at 1.66 meters (-25 mm). This is due to the fact that the platform evolves the architecture used previously. What benefits from this is habitability and capacity, with the load capacity increasing by 20 litres, reaching 570 liters (460 liters on the plug-in hybrid version). The design is now more dynamic, with sculpted lines and a higher waistline. The clean lines are reflected on the sides thanks to the retractable handles and in a Cd improved to 0.27. The short overhangs further vary the side view, with larger tracks and more muscular wheel arches. At the front, the double kidney grille always stands out, also available in the Iconic Glow backlit version and renewed with oblique lines. On its sides there are also LED light clusters with a renewed design.
Interior of new BMW X3
In the cockpit we find a digital dashboard, in which the physical controls almost completely disappear. Behind the steering wheel runs the Curved Display, with 12.3” and 14.9” screens for the instrument panel and the multimedia system, based on the new BMW OS 9 operating system. The improved interface and now thanks to QuickSelect offers greater usability as well as new functions even when the car is stationary. The Interaction Bar which debuted on the new 5 Series, available as an option, has also been borrowed from the new BMW X3.
Engines
The engine range includes hybrid options, but does not include the electric one which will debut with the future car based on the Neue Klasse. Under the skin there are engines combined with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. They range from the 208 HP mild-hybrid petrol and the 197 HP diesel while the PHEV has a total power of 299 HP and offers 86 km of autonomy in full electric mode. At the top of the BMW
