Monterrey Mexico.- The potential cyclone that in the early hours of today was advancing through the Gulf of Mexico and could become tropical storm “Alberto” will generate a mega rain system that will bathe Nuevo León after entering the coasts of Texas and Tamaulipas.
At the same time that the phenomenon was advancing from the south, specialized sites yesterday revealed cloudiness and rain off the coast of the United States, which the National Water Commission identified as part of the circulation generated by the same low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico.
According to Meteored, the rains would reach the metropolitan area of Monterrey today, intensifying starting at noon, to continue tomorrow.
The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned that the phenomenon would generate rains of up to 300 millimeters in NL, around half of the state’s historical annual average, which is 627.9 millimeters.
In a subsequent advisory, he warned of possible floods and landslides that endanger lives in mountainous areas of Coahuila and Nuevo León, including the metropolitan area of Monterrey.
“Users are reminded not to focus on the exact forecast trajectory of this system,” the NHC said about the possible cyclone, which would make landfall in Soto la Marina, Tamaulipas.
Added to this is that the NHC yesterday reported another area of low pressure that was under surveillance over the southwest of the Gulf of Mexico.
