The cars displayed on the golf course
In the world of vintage car shows and rallies there is now everything. But what has just taken place in Rome, in the Parco Golf Club, inside the Veio Park, is something unique. A mix of charm and history, with the particularity of seeing the cars on display – perhaps to the desperation of the golfers, who knows… – on the perfect golf lawn. We are talking about the sixth edition of “La Volpe Argentata Invitational”, a unique event that this year shattered all records.
After five years of restoration, the Ferrari 121 returns
To clarify, here, after five long years of restoration at the Ferrari Classiche centre, an American billionaire has exhibited his 121 LM built by Enzo Ferrari in 1955 in just 4 examples. The same car with which, among other things, Piero Taruffi, i.e. the Volpe Argentata, ran the 1956 Mille Miglia.
The event was invented by the volcanic Prisca Taruffi, daughter of the famous pilot, who has made the event grow more and more from year to year. This year’s event paid homage to the Mille Miglia, the historic race won by Piero Taruffi in 1957 with a Ferrari 315 S.
The protagonists
In addition to the spectacular Ferrari 121 LM, many other pearls were also exhibited, from the Jaguar
In addition to the display of classic cars there was also the amateur golf competition “Amateur Challenge”, considered one of the most glamorous events of the year for Italian golfers. Also noteworthy is the solidarity initiative, with the “Charity Hole” in favor of the CABSS – Deaf and Deafblind Children’s Assistance Center, supported by the Hassler hotel. VB
