Rain of horses for the Audi e-tron GTwhose range is enriched, as well as the version RS e-tron GTof others two new variants: the S e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT performance. Apart from new features in the look of all the new arrivals – such as the new black frame that surrounds the three-dimensional single frame or a richer range of colors than before – what is impressive is the injection of power that the parent company has applied to these variants. The S e-tron GT can now count on a maximum power of 680 HP and 740 Nm of torque, 150 HP and 110 Nm more than the previous entry variant of the e-tron GT range. At the same time, the RS e-tron GT boasts 856 HP (+210 HP if compared to the previous model) and 865 Nm (+35 Nm), while the top of the range Audi RS e-tron GT performance stands at 925 HP and 1,027 Nm: it is the most powerful production Audi ever made.
Performance
The performance speaks for itself. There The Audi S e-tron GT sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds7 tenths less than the previous entry-level variant of the range. The RS e-tron GT goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 secondsimproving the time achieved by the previous model by 5 tenths, while the top of the range, the RS e-tron GT performance, devours 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Even on the top speed front there is no joke: 245 km/h for the S version, equipped with an oversized braking system with steel discs, while the RS variants are self-limited to 250 km/h and make use of coated brake discs as standard made of tungsten carbide. Upon request, Audi offers carbon-ceramic brakes with ten-piston front calipers for all versions in the range. The quattro electric all-wheel drive remains, based on the action of the two electric motors – one for each axle – which benefits from a marked upgrade of the electronics underlying the torque distribution strategy between the front and rear axles. Among the new features, Boost is entrusted to one of the satellites behind the wheel. A “push-to-pass” type function that allows the Audi RS e-tron GT and Audi RS e-tron GT performance to have a temporary increase in power quantifiable as 95 HP. The maximum duration of the Boost, 10 seconds, is reported by the instrumentation in the form of a countdown.
Lighter battery and greater autonomy
There drums at high voltage with which the new Audi e-tron GT range weighs 625 kilograms, 9 kilograms less than before. A result that is all the more noteworthy considering how it is accompanied by a significantly higher energy density: the capacity now stands at 105 kWh (97 kWh net), an effective 13 kWh more thanks to the cooling plate and the cell conditioning system of the “pouch” type, equipped with a flexible external covering in aluminum-coated plastic material. Cells that are organized in blocks of 12 units for each of the 33 battery modules. A clear upgrade also for the energy recovery system, entrusted to electro-hydraulic braking, now capable of managing electric power with peaks of up to 400 kW instead of the previous 290 kW. Consistent with the past, the driver can opt for automatic or manual recovery, in the latter case ranging across three levels selectable using the steering wheel rockers so as to favor the so-called “one-pedal feeling”. Thanks mainly to the new battery, the advanced cells and the refinement of the thermal management system, the Audi S e-tron GT can count onmaximum range up to 609 kilometers WLTP: over 100 km more than the previous entry variant of the e-tron GT range. Equally significant is the increase in range for the Audi RS e-tron GT, now boasting a maximum range of up to 597 kilometers WLTP: +102 km compared to the previous model. Audi RS e-tron GT performance finally reaches 585 WLTP kilometers.
Charging power up to 320 kW and restoration of 280 km of autonomy in 10 minutes
The growth in performance and autonomy is accompanied by a clear upgrade in terms of “refueling” speed. Now, in fact, the models in the Audi e-tron GT range can count on direct current (DC) charging powers of up to 320 kW: 50 kW more than in the past. The state of charge (SoC) goes from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes, while in 10 minutes it is possible to restore up to 280 km of autonomy at an HPC station. Values of absolute importance which are accompanied by an extraordinarily constant charging curve and the Plug & Charge function. At IONITY and ewiva charging stations, cars are automatically authorized to insert the charging cable and start the operation without the need for any card or app. The process begins without further action and invoicing is equally automated, without physical payment instruments
Prices
The new models of the Audi e-tron GT family will arrive in Italian dealerships during the month of September.
