Towards poker
In Canada Max Verstappen he has put another piece in that mosaic which seems destined to become his fourth consecutive world title. The Dutchman from Red Bull on the circuit named after Gilles Villeneuve collected his sixth triumph in nine GPs in 2024 and extended his lead over his closest pursuer in the championship – Charles Leclerc – to 56 points. Hasselt has already conquered the #1 in the Circus 60 victoriesa huge number touched previously in the history of the sport only by Michael Schumacher And Lewis Hamilton.
Record numbers
What is impressive, however, when looking at Verstappen, is the age at which he is performing these feats. Despite having been around F1 for almost a decade now, the star of the Red Bull team has just 26 years old, who will become 27 on September 30th. The idol of the Orange fans therefore reached the milestone of 60 GPs won enormously earlier – in terms of age – than the two seven-time champions.
Schumacher he managed to reach 60 on July 7, 2002, in Great Britain, at the age of 33 years and 6 months. Hamilton he preceded the Kaiser by almost a year, hitting the sharp 60th in Singapore 2017 when he had 32 years and 8 months. Verstappen, however, ‘burned’ his historic rival by exactly 6 years, with 26 years and 8 months.
Schumi at 35%
At the level of % of victories on races played at the time of success number 60, however, Schumacher remains unreachable. Indeed, the German at the checkered flag at Silverstone 2002 had won 35% of the races he entered. Hamilton and Verstappen, respectively, achieved this milestone by winning 29% and 30% of the races in which they took part.
