The Israeli army burned the departures hall and a number of facilities on the Palestinian side of the Rafah land crossing, south of the Gaza Strip, while military vehicles penetrated into the center of Rafah under heavy fire cover, coinciding with another incursion into the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, on the second day of Eid al-Adha.
Local Palestinian sources said that the Israeli army burned the departures hall and a number of facilities and buildings at the Rafah land crossing about 40 days after controlling it on May 7.
A photo circulated by Palestinian accounts on social media also showed the departure hall at the crossing completely burned.
Also in the city of Rafah, a number of Israeli military vehicles stationed on the “Philadelphia axis” advanced towards the city center under heavy fire cover.
This incursion was preceded by Israeli warplanes targeting a house in the “Al-Karaj Al-Sharqi” area in central Rafah, which led to its complete destruction.
A number of Palestinians were injured in an Israeli bombing that targeted the “Saudi Neighborhood” area, west of Rafah, according to what Palestinian medics reported.
