A court in Moscow arrested Colonel Dzyaman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in absentia in connection with the terrorist attack.
In Moscow, the Khamovnichesky District Court arrested in absentia the commander of the 138-1 anti-aircraft missile brigade (military unit A4608) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Colonel Nikolai Dzyaman, who gave the order to destroy the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) aircraft in the airspace of the Russian Federation. This is reported by TASS.
Dzyaman is charged under Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Terrorist attack resulting in the death of a person”). He is on the federal wanted list.
According to TASS, on February 23, 2024, one of the Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft patrolled Russian airspace. The plane had no weapons and was not a combat aircraft. However, despite this, the convicted Dzyaman ordered his military subordinates to destroy him. The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out the order. As a result, the Russian plane was destroyed and all 10 crew members were killed.
Earlier it was reported that the Investigative Committee of Russia is demanding the arrest in absentia of Colonel Nikolai Dzyaman, serving in the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a terrorism case.
