Deputy head of the Department of Economic Crimes of Sochi was detained in Samara for exceeding his authority
The deputy head of the Main Directorate of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption (OBEP) of Sochi was detained in Samara on suspicion of abuse of power. This is reported by Telegram– REN TV channel.
It is clarified that security forces searched Leonid Shulika’s hotel room, as well as his place of residence. They were able to seize equipment, including five phones, jewelry and cash. In addition, the detainee was found to have luxury items with Nazi symbols.
According to a REN TV source, Shulika is involved in construction fraud. He will soon be taken to Sochi for arrest.
Earlier, the Saratov Regional Court announced a verdict against the former head of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption (OEBiPK) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Saratov, guilty of attempted extortion of a bribe and abuse of office. The man was sentenced to nine years in prison.
