Athletics|The peak of the triple jumper’s career is the European Championship silver in Munich.
Triple Jumper Kristiina Mäkelä said on Instagram that he will end his sports career this summer.
“For 15 years, the triple jump has partly defined me as a person. I have enjoyed sports a lot and learned a lot about life. I am grateful and proud to have been able to represent Finland. The goal is for there to be two more representative meetings this season. The Olympics and the end of the season in the Sweden match,” Mäkelä wrote.
He said that the Paavo Nurme Games and the Kaleva Games are important for the Olympic dream. At the Olympics, he is chasing the third final place of his career.
“Come and have fun at the games! I’m trying to get by without cheating,” Mäkelä wrote.
The highlight of his career is the silver at the European Championships in Munich in 2022. At that time, the Finnish record of 14.64 was also created.
