Russia ratified this Wednesday (12) the cooperation agreement with China for the joint construction of a station on the Moon, as stated in the corresponding document signed by the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, on the State’s legal information portal.
The agreement was signed between Moscow and Beijing on November 25, 2022, in order to create the organizational and legal basis for cooperation in the construction and operation of a research and exploration station on the Moon for “peaceful purposes”.
The document ratified this Wednesday by Russia establishes the forms of cooperation, financing channels, the staggered plan for implementing the project, tax and customs regulations, control of exploration and mechanisms to resolve possible differences between the parties.
The project also paid special attention to the protection of intellectual property generated as a result of joint work between the two countries, working with confidential information and the legal and physical protection of the parties’ properties.
According to Russia and China, the creation of the International Lunar Scientific Station will open up great possibilities in the “exploration” of the Earth’s natural satellite and will promote broad-spectrum scientific research, including lunar research, experiments and testing of technologies that allow humans to remain on the Moon .
Russia and China had already outlined in 2021 a plan to build a lunar scientific station by the year 2035.
