Lula da Silva confirmed Brazil’s position on the settlement in Ukraine
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio da Silva, in a conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, confirmed his country’s position on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine with the participation of both sides of the conflict, enshrined in the joint Brazilian-Chinese document. This is reported on website Brazilian administration.
It is noted that Moscow was the initiator of the conversation between the leaders. The Russian leader expressed solidarity with those affected by the flood in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In addition, the leaders of the two countries discussed bilateral economic cooperation and multilateral governance.
On May 24, Brazil and China put forward an alternative to the “peace summit” in Switzerland. The summit, organized by the two countries, assumes equal participation of all parties to the conflict in Ukraine, as well as a fair discussion of all peace plans.
