Cristian’s brother still missing in the Natisone releases statements against the Italian rescue efforts, on the same day the family’s lawyer breaks his silence on the tragedy that occurred
Even today the searches continue unabated Cristian Molnar, the last missing person in the tragedy that occurred during the flood of the Natisone. On the ninth day of searches, the rescuers and the Fire Brigade continue to check the entire stream section by section, hoping for what is defined by all of Italy as “a possible miracle”.
The 25-year-old’s family still hopes to find him alive and have the chance to hug him once again. In particular, it is precisely the brother of Cristian who recently made some statements that were not at all positive.
The latter, Petru Radu, in the last few hours he has commented negatively on the vast operation that the Civil Protection and the rescuers have implemented. Furthermore, the family’s lawyer broke the silence by bringing to the center of some assessments the possibility that the three boys could be saved.
Below are the statements of the young Petru Radu, Cristian’s brother, and those of the family’s lawyer.
Tragedy in Natisone, the words of Cristian’s brother and the family’s lawyer
In the last few hours the effort by the rescue center has been truly impressive. There are as many as eighty people divided among the helicopters, drones, boats and dog units who are relentlessly searching for the young Cristian.
A behavior defined by the missing man’s brother “very theatrical” and which left the volunteers themselves very saddened. However, these are not the only statements that have cast doubt on the work of the rescue army.
In fact, it was the lawyer for Cristian’s family who made matters worse, Gaetano Laghi who, in some interviews, declared:
If help had started promptly, i.e. when poor Patrizia requested it, today the boys would be alive and at home with their parents. After having also carried out an inspection in the location of the tragedy, I am very struck by the underestimation of the initial situation. I would expect from those responsible for receiving phone calls and requests for help such preparation that, having news of a person who is in that precise place, they know how to intervene.
It was probably those first moments of underestimation of the danger that then determined the fact that the boys were not saved in time. Consequently, it will be necessary to evaluate the degree of the omissions, because the prosecutor of Udine says that we are talking about omissions and we agree on this. Unfortunately, however, it was an omission, a delay that affected the rescue. I can reiterate that I am deeply convinced of this circumstance: if the rescue had started promptly, the boys would be alive today.
