The new trailer presented at the Summer Game Fest announces that Dark and Darker is back on Steam and is free-to-play. The game also made its debut on the Epic Games Store, a sign that the legal case with Nexon has probably been resolved in some way.
“We wanted to deliver big news to introduce the Dark and Darker experience to an even broader audience, coinciding with the start of the new season on June 7th,” the development team said in commenting on the move to the free-to-play model.
The guys from Ironmance also revealed the availability of an important update which includes a new map called Ice Abyss, a new boss, a Druid class that can take the form of various animals and numerous “quality of life” improvements.
An eagerly awaited return
We knew that the lawsuit with Nexon had seen the Dark and Darker team win the first round, but the rumors of the game returning to Steam had not yet found a official confirmationat least until recently.
As you know, Dark and Darker is an action RPG characterized by a fascinating fantasy setting in which we can set off on epic adventures in the company of our friends, completing increasingly difficult challenges and collecting immense riches along the way.
Inspired by the great classics of the past, the game allows you to select your character from different classes and exploit their particular abilities to overcome even the most complex tests, immersed in a world as evocative as it is insidious.
