Another 100 people involved in extremist acts are wanted in Brazil; The corporation’s office in Buenos Aires works with the local police
The PF (Federal Police) is searching for more than 50 fugitives from January 8th in Argentina. There is no concrete number yet. Federal police officers are trying to map the location of the fugitives through the Federal Police office in Buenos Aires, which has coordinated with the country’s police.
Until the publication of this report, 50 people had already been arrested in Brazil by order of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) minister Alexandre de Moraes. Another 100 people involved in extremist acts are still wanted in Brazil by the PF.
Moraes ordered the arrest of 208 people involved in the 8th of January on Thursday (June 6, 2024) for failing to comply with precautionary measures or for fleeing the country.
The PF will ask Argentina to extradite January 8 fugitives who are in Buenos Aires. Requests will be filed with the Department of Asset Recovery and International Legal Cooperation, of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
The Federal Police have already launched 27 phases of the Lesa Pátria operation, which aimed to arrest extremists, authorities considered negligent and inciters and financiers of January 8th.
