Nintendo has launched a completely themed update Mega Man for the catalogue Nintendo Switch Onlinewith well 5 games of the series in Game Boy version available from today and freely downloadable by subscribers to the Kyoto company’s online service.
These are historical titles, which provide a practically complete overview of the famous Capcom series on Nintendo’s classic portable, so let’s see list of games in question:
- Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge
- Mega Man II
- Mega Man III
- Mega Man IV
- Mega Man V
All the titles in question were released in the 90s on Game Boy, in particular between 1991 and 1994, just to get an idea of the quantity of titles and the frequency with which these were released on the market at the time.
The history of 2D action
These are games of considerable historical value, which in some cases represent the sum of classic 2D action, at least in a portable context.
They are also titles with a notable level of difficulty, so be prepared for some demanding challenges.
Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge, released in 1991, sees us clash with the evil Dr. Wily, who has created a sort of “Mega Man Killer” to accompany his Robot Masters. Mega Man 2 again sees the usual villain take possession of the Time Skimmer, which launches us into an adventure around time, while in Mega Man 3 we are once again hunting the mad scientist in his enormous fortress.
In Mega Man 4 we are up against an entire city of robots that have fallen under the control of – guess what? – Dr. Wily, while in Mega Man 5 we are dealing with a real invasion on a global scale. In short, a nice dive into the golden age of 2D action is what awaits us with this package of titles on Nintendo Switch Online, available from today, June 7th.
