One of the most magical things that the video game medium can have is the way in which it usually surprises us. We can have an important list of titles that we look forward to and that we are sure will captivate us once we have them in our hands, but what would our beloved hobby be without those totally unexpected deliveries that refresh with interesting proposals and that, above all, arrive without the enormous pollution that the so-called hype can generate. The Poles of Critical Hit Games They are debuting as a studio with a game under the name Nobody Wants to Diewhich may have given that bell we told you about.
A few days ago we had the opportunity to be in a closed session with our friends from Plaionwho are in charge of publishing Nobody Wants to Die. After a short introduction by its producer, we were shown an extended gameplay of just over 20 minutes in which we were able to roughly see the concept of this game that was presented a few months ago with a very attractive cinematic trailer. The truth is that we have been quite surprised with what they are up to, because although we are facing an experience that may not be for everyone, for those who are, it will surely cause a powerful reaction.
What kind of game is it Nobody Wants to Die? According to what we saw, we are facing a first-person adventure title in which the main mechanics have to do with solving puzzles through analysis of crime scenes. It is as if sections of this type of batman arkham, they would have been expanded into a complete game. In order to solve these problems, our character has several devices such as an ultraviolet light to follow traces of blood, x-rays to see through walls and floors, and what is undoubtedly the most interesting, a strange device that allows us to reconstruct parts of the scene being analyzed, to discover what really happened.
The entire context of the game revolves around a dystopian future in New York City. The characters have very advanced technology, but with a certain steampunk challenge style. In addition to the above, it seems that the choice of dialogue is very important to shape the story, which also plays a central role in the experience that is being presented. I still don’t know exactly what this story is about, but it seems like we’re going to play a rebellious detective who is asked to do things like hide evidence. Graphically Nobody Wants to Die It looks spectacular, it seems to me that Unreal Engine 5 is being used, this to be confirmed, because at least the scene we saw left us truly impressed with things like its lighting and the gigantic amount of detail that can be seen.
Of course this was only a brief encounter with Nobody Wants to Die and there is still a lot to know about what it will have to offer us, however, I can tell you that I have been left with a pleasant taste in my mouth. It is noted that despite being a new study, Critical Hit Games It is made up of industry veterans who know how to do their jobs and who, of course, have been developing this title for six years. The launch has been agreed for next July 17 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
