On the occasion of the Guerrilla Collective we also returned to seeing in movement Clock Tower Rewind, reissue of the horror classic has become a cult title that is about to return to PC and console and will also have aphysical editionas announced in this new trailer.
The new version is developed by the 2D specialists at WayForward, and in fact it precisely takes up the original style, released in the 90s on SNES: it is an adventure that could almost be defined as “point and click”, but definitely full of tension given the terrifying situations in which the protagonist finds herself.
In the game we find ourselves playing the young orphan Jennifer, guest of the disturbing Barrows manor, who finds herself trapped in a terrible nightmare, forced to flee from disturbing creatures such as the famous scissorman armed with enormous and sharp scissors.
A survival horror game with point-and-click elements
Although it has a more staid pace than action games of this genre, Clock Tower is essentially a survival horror game, in which the player’s different choices influence the progress of the story and can lead to different endings.
Clock Tower Rewind takes up the story and elements of the original but obviously update the graphics to adapt it to modern resolutions and the control system, making everything a little more fluid even if the faithfulness to the classic is evident.
In addition, the new version also introduces some animated sequences in Japanese style which increase the narrative potential. On the occasion of the new presentation, the physical edition curated by Limited Run Games was also announced.
Clock Tower Rewind does not yet have a precise release date but is expected to arrive during 2024 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
