11 bit studios announced with a trailer that The Alters will receive a demo on Steam: PC users will have the chance to preview the original sci-fi adventure from June 10th to 17th.
As illustrated in the video, in The Alters we will follow the events of Jan Dolski, a worker who finds himself stranded on a remote planet but does not lose hope of being able to return home. For this reason he resorts to decidedly drastic measures, using a substance that allows him to create alternative versions of oneself.
These alternate versions of Jan are the Alters of the title: each has a different personalityof a past and ambitions with which we will have to come to terms, trying to find the right compromise so that this unusual team can work.
After the war and the apocalypse, the doubles
Announced exactly two years ago, The Alters represents the debut of a new intellectual property for 11 bit studios, after the success of This War of Mine and Frostpunk: two survival games with different settings and themes, but equally raw and dramatic.
If you have seen the movie Moonyou will have an idea of the implications inherent in the assumptions of The Alters, but that’s not all: in the game we will also have to deal with a system of choices and consequences projected onto the protagonist’s past and future.
Finally, there will be no shortage of survival elements, represented by the resources that we will have to find on the hostile planet including food, fuel and other useful objects, to be collected quickly and used in the best way because time is running out and the radiation could kill us.
