Less than a month before the start of the Copa América 2024, The Colombian Football Federation (FCF) has issued a worrying alert about the emergence of scammers who pose as official sponsors of the Colombian National Team.
The FCF warns that malicious individuals are using alleged brands allied to the national team to carry out scams and thefts directed at the fervent fans of the National Team.
“The Colombian Football Federation (FCF) makes a warning call and caution to all its stakeholders “so as not to fall into unscrupulous acts of malicious people who pose as false sponsors of the national team and the FCF, ahead of the 2024 Copa América championship,” they declared.
With the fervor for the Copa América reaching its peak, thousands of fans are planning their trips to the United States or adjusting their schedules so as not to miss a single match in this exciting competition. However, the FCF has highlighted the importance to be attentive and not be fooled by these dishonest practices who seek to take advantage of the enthusiasm and loyalty of the fans.
The FCF urges all fans to report any suspicious activity to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) or before the Tax and Customs Police, using all official channels available.
“Report promptly to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) or to the Tax and Customs Police, through all the channels provided by these institutions, any activity detrimental to Colombian football,” they stressed.
Among the official sponsors are big brands such as Adidas, Ara, Avianca, Bancolombia, Movistar, Homecenter, Colombiana, Águilas, BetPlay and Assist Card. The FCF emphasizes that any offers or promotions that do not come directly from these brands should be considered with extreme caution.
