As reported by some users, the PlayStation Store page of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero now it would seem to confirm the presence of Local multiplayer for two players in split-screento the delight of many fans of the series, after the doubts expressed by the Bandai Namco development team about the implementation of this feature at launch.
As you can see in the image below, some informative icons of the game are shown, such as those relating to the mandatory use of PS Plus to play online and support for DualSense features. What interests us in this specific case is the second icon in the central column, which indicates the number of users supported for offline play, which speaks of “1 – 2 players”.
This seems to confirm the presence of local multiplayer for two people, probably in split-screen like the previous games in the Budokai Tenkaichi series. After all, it is the same information present in titles such as Street Fighter 6 and Gran Turismo 7 (which support it) and absent, however, in titles such as Helldivers 2 and Sea of Thieves (which have multiplayer, but only online).
What’s new at the Summer Game Fest?
Clearly, before claiming victory it is necessary to wait for official confirmation from Bandai Namco. After all, the PlayStation Store page for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero still lacks many details (such as the various editions available, prices and so on) and therefore it is only temporary. Furthermore, we recall that in an interview published in February, producer Jun Furutani had reported that local multiplayer was in doubt for the launch, due to some unspecified problems encountered with Sony and Microsoft which complicated its implementation.
It is likely that more precise details on this matter will arrive over the next few days. Recently a billbil-kun leak revealed the arrival of an Ultimate Edition of the game priced at $109.99 and an announcement scheduled for the Summer Game Fest, which we remember will take place starting from 11pm Italian on Friday 7 June. It is reasonable to expect that Bandai Namco will take advantage of such an important showcase to reveal the much desired exit date of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, currently scheduled for a generic 2024.
