Marc Marquez has achieved his goal: he will be the one to wear red and join Pecco Bagnaia in the official Ducati team in 2025 and 2026. The eight-time world champion finally beat the highly regarded competition of the current leader champion Jorge Martin, who in the meantime has joined Aprilia, and will therefore create a “dream team” of 11 world titles, which could even become 12 if he or Pecco takes the crown at the end of the year.
And to say that, until a few days ago, the scenario seemed to be completely different, because “Martinator” had arrived at Mugello last Thursday on the strength of a handshake with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer. The firm no of the #93 to a possible arrival in Prima Pramac Racing with a factory version Desmosedici GP, however, changed everything very quickly, because Claudio Domenicali and Gigi Dall’Igna did not want to miss out on a rider of the talent and media strength of the former of Cervera.
After all, what he is managing to do aboard the “old” Gresini Racing GP23 has done nothing other than confirm that the dark period linked to injuries and Honda’s technical crisis is now behind us. It’s true that the highlight of the victory is still missing, but at Mugello a streak of podiums that had lasted since the long race in Jerez was interrupted and Marc’s delay from the championship summit to a third of the championship is only 35 points.

Now that everything is in black and white, the Cervera champion’s first words as an official rider of the Bolognese brand have also arrived: “I am very happy to be able to wear the red color of the official Ducati team in MotoGP next season. Practically from the first contact I had fun riding the Desmosedici GP and I adapted well straight away.”
“From that moment I understood that my goal was to continue on this path, continue to grow and join the team where Francesco Bagnaia became World Champion for two years in a row. I am really happy to be able to take this big step starting from since 2025 and grateful for the trust that Ducati has placed in me”, he added.
Before closing, he also wanted to dedicate a thought to the Faenza team: “Finally, I want to thank Nadia, Carlo, Michele and the whole Gresini Racing family for opening the door of their team to me in a delicate moment of my career. Now we will continue to have fun and give our best in what remains of the current season, which is my priority at the moment.”
