Yesterday, the Dubai Health Authority announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the National Training Company, which will prepare and qualify the authority’s medical and specialized personnel, and raise the level of their capabilities and efficiency to deal with emergencies, disasters and health crises, in accordance with the highest international standards and protocols.
The memorandum was signed by the Public Health Consultant, Director of the Disaster and Crisis Management Office at the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Khaled Abdullah Lootah, and the CEO of the Emirates Medical Preparedness and Response Program (Jahziyah), Head of the National Center for Disaster Medicine, and Director General of National Training, Dr. Adel Al-Shammari Al-Ajmi.
It is expected that cooperation between the Dubai Health Authority and the National Training Company will include the launch of advanced training programs at the level of the Emirate of Dubai in the field of emergency preparedness and crisis management, in accordance with the legislation, procedures and systems in force in each party. Under the memorandum, the National Training Company will provide a fully equipped field hospital for use in mock exercises, in addition to a modern and advanced package of training programs that will be implemented.
Dr. Khaled Lootah stressed that the cooperation of the Dubai Health Authority and the National Training Company will, in turn, create many enhanced opportunities for the health emergency, crisis and disaster management system, especially on the human side.
Dr. Adel Al-Shammari Al-Ajmi said that by joining the Dubai Health Authority, National Training will be able to contribute to improving the capabilities of health care providers in the long term, which will reflect positively on society.
