The VR46 driver experienced a difficult Mugello
Not even Mugello has revitalized Marco Bezzecchi, which is experiencing a rather anonymous 2024. The Ducati rider finished the GP 13th, once again far from his teammate Fabio Di Giannantoniowho confirmed the seventh place obtained in the Sprint with another good comeback that led him to overtake Maverick Vinales at the end.
The Roman driver commented on his race like this: “I’m very happy, but also tired, I pushed a lot and it’s not easy to overtake here. I tried, I’m happy, it was a good comeback. We always demonstrate that we are strong and fast, the sensations are positive. On the one hand, it’s not an easy year, but we are showing our real potential and this is the thing that makes me most proud. I started well, but towards the end I made a step. I’m delicate when driving, I brake well and I have good speed when entering corners. I can manage the tyres, maybe even the training I do at home, but I manage to conserve extra energy in the final stages of the GP.”
Marco Bezzecchi, on the other hand, continues to be ‘prisoner’ of a problem that leads him to wear the front tire excessively: “I have only one problem to solve, the understeer in the center of the corner. Driving like this, I immediately run out of tire in front and on tracks like this and Barcelona, where the tire is already under pressure, I suffer a lot”. Today’s test day will certainly be useful for the VR46 pilot to work on this problem.
