Lawyer Isetsky: Timur Ivanov can receive the seized property after the trial
The seized property of Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov may be returned to him after a verdict is passed. Lawyer Eduard Isetsky spoke about this.
The defender explained that such a development of events is possible in two cases. The seizure of property is lifted when a sentence is passed and after it enters into legal force, then the court will separately indicate this in the text of the sentence, or the seizure can only be lifted by proving the lack of involvement of the accused in the seized property.
Also, Isetsky noted, the property of third parties, including spouses, other relatives and even acquaintances, may be seized in the case. In this case, the court will have to extend the arrest quarterly.

On May 8, the property of Ivanov’s relatives and parents was seized in connection with his criminal case. According to the lawyer, even the parents’ bank accounts, which contained ten thousand rubles, were seized. The defense stated that it had no information about other property that was also seized. However, the lawyer noted that the apartment in Chisty Lane and the house on Rublyovka do not belong to Ivanov.
Ivanov found a fleet of vehicles and luxury real estate
Earlier it became known that the court seized two cars and a motorcycle that belonged to the Deputy Minister of Defense. We are talking about a German Mercedes-Benz V-class minivan, an American Chevrolet Suburban SUV and an MV Agusta motorcycle, which Ivanov transferred to his wife and his father in 2022 and 2023. At the same time, Ivanov’s partner, TV presenter Maria Kitayeva, re-registered her Mercedes and MINI Cooper cars to other owners.

The couple purchased a new car or motorcycle every year: in 2016 they owned nine vehicles at once, and three years later their number increased to twelve. In addition, since 2016, Ivanov’s ex-wife has owned a Bentley Continental, Aston Martin, Hummer H2 and two Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
On May 29, it became known that the car dealership could not sell the Chevrolet Suburban SUV, which belonged to Ivanov. Problems arose due to the seizure of the car.
It was reported that during his career, Ivanov acquired a residential building with an area of more than 1,500 square meters together with his wife. It was possible to find out that the arrested Deputy Minister of Defense allegedly owns a mansion in the classicist style with a park and a fountain in the Tver region worth approximately two billion rubles, as well as a mansion in Chisty Lane in Moscow, which was leased for 49 years and registered in the name of an official driver with a floating rate of one to two million rubles per year. In addition, the media wrote about a house owned by Ivanov for a billion rubles in the premium cottage village “Razdory-2” in the Moscow region.
Timur Ivanov was arrested on suspicion of receiving billions in bribes
Timur Ivanov was detained at his workplace on April 23. He was charged under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Receiving a bribe on an especially large scale”).
