Despite an extensive history in this industry, Naughty Dog has pigeonholed itself into the series of The Last of Us During the last years. Whether through schools, remasters, remakes or canceled multiplayers, the weight that Joel and Ellie’s adventure has had on the perception of the company in recent years is undeniable. However, Neil Druckamann, head of the studio, hopes to change this in his future projects.
Although at the moment there is no clear information, during an interview with the LA Times, Druckmann notes that there are currently multiple single player projects in development at Naughty Dog. This is what was said about it:
“We create experiences that are infused with stories and characters, especially relationships. The stories have a kind of philosophical core around which everything will revolve and feed.”
While details are scarce, Naughty Dog’s next game is expected to be something completely original. However, This does not mean that the world of The Last of Us will be completely forgotten, since a third installment is already being considered, with Druckmann conceptualizing this title, although without officially entering development.
For the moment, we can only wait to find out the next step of this study, something that, without a doubt, will surprise more than one. On related topics, here’s what we know about The Last of Us Part III. Likewise, Neil Druckmann talks about the studio’s next game.
Author’s Note:
I hope Naughty Dog gives us something worthwhile with its next game, and not just The Last of Us with a new coat of paint. Not only must the story be original, but the gameplay must be unique, something that could be a big problem.
