Ryabkov: attacks on missile attack warning systems will be stopped
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that any attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) to attack missile attack warning systems (MAWS) will be suppressed. He emphasized that the response to such actions may be asymmetrical, he quotes him as saying TASS.
Thus, for the first time, the authorities acknowledged attacks on infrastructure critical to national security. Early warning systems monitor launches of ballistic missiles at ultra-long distances and are an element of the Russian nuclear deterrent forces.
“This is not the first time that the regime in Kyiv tried to disrupt the normal functioning of important parts of our military organization,” Ryabkov said. He also noted that Kyiv systematically receives encouragement from the United States for such provocative actions.
On May 25, Senator from the Zaporozhye region Dmitry Rogozin reported about the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on an early warning system in the Krasnodar region. During the attack, according to him, the antennas of the Voronezh-DM radar station were damaged.
As military expert Oleg Glazunov explained, the object attacked in Kuban is intended to control airspace and inform about a nuclear missile strike.
