Start of show
The first Friday as a MotoGP rider at Mugello for Pedro Acosta ended with the third place in pre-qualifying And a few ‘rolls’ in the gravel. The Spanish wonder rookie is fell twice, one in FP1 and the other in afternoon practice. Even in these unfortunate circumstances, however, the young Spanish talent did not give up on giving a bit of a show: the images of him getting out to push the service scooter that was supposed to take him back to the pits to allow him to overcome a hill that was too steep immediately went viral and unleashed the audience’s amusement and spontaneous applause in the press room.
Fall without consequences
“The skit with the scooter? The bike didn’t have enough push to get over the hill, so I had to get off and push.”, the Tech3 team representative said amusedly. Acosta then analyzed his slides, appearing not too worried about it: “NThey weren’t two crashes that were too big and they didn’t happen because I was pushing too hard. Both times I wasn’t forcing it. I’m happy because even with the falls we managed to complete our work during the day. There is margin everywhere, but we need to improve T3 and T4. Now I’m wasting time in those sections, I have to find the perfect line. In FP2 we will try to focus on race pace“.
Mugello, what a passion
The Iberian then admitted that he was not insensitive there charm of Mugello. The speed of the splendid Tuscan track had its impact on the KTM rider: “This is the track where I feel the speed the most. I rode in Malaysia, Qatar, Barcelona, all tracks with fast straights. Here though you feel the walls coming at you. When you cross the starting line everything around you starts to shrink. Driving here is fun, it’s one of the nicest tracks in the championship“. And ‘Paco’ is ready to entertain us.
