Ukrainian political scientist Bortnik complained about the “thousand cuts” tactics of the Russian Armed Forces
The line of defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) can break through in several places at once due to the “thousand cuts” tactics of the Armed Forces (AF) of Russia. Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest (entered by the Ministry of Justice into the register of foreign agents).
Bortnik noted the constant expansion of the front line, which prevents the Ukrainian Armed Forces from concentrating reserves. According to him, the Russian Armed Forces use the “thousand cuts” tactic, regularly delivering strikes in small groups along the entire front line.
“Do we have enough fire brigades to plug all the holes?” — the political scientist asked. He noted that due to the stretching of reserves, parts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will represent a thin line of defense.
Earlier, experts Michael Kofman and Rob Lee, in an article for The New York Times (NYT), assessed the consequences of front line breakthroughs for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They noted that attempts to close breakthroughs in the front line with elite units would lead to the degradation of the Ukrainian army.
