His Excellency Mohsen Al-Nissi, Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection Affairs, said that implementing the “noon work ban” has become an established culture among the business community and private sector companies in the country, due to its importance in preserving the health and safety of workers and protecting them as they are the companies’ most important resources, as it expresses the level of companies’ commitment to implementing The ban over the past years has diminished the extent of awareness, partnership, depth of social responsibility, and private sector companies’ compliance with legislation related to worker protection and safety.

The provisions of the noon work ban take into account ensuring the continuation of work to serve the objectives of the public interest, as they stipulate the exception of some works in which work is necessary without stopping for technical reasons, such as the work of spreading asphalt mixture and pouring concrete, if it is not possible to implement or complete them after the ban period. Works necessary to ward off danger or repair malfunctions that affect society in general, such as interruptions in water supply lines, power outages, traffic interruptions, and other malfunctions in basic services. The exception also includes works whose implementation requires a permit from a competent government authority because they affect Movement and public life.
Companies are obligated to provide shaded places for workers, during the months of the ban, to protect them from the sun’s rays, during the period of cessation of work, or while they are practicing licensed work, and to provide appropriate cooling tools such as fans, sufficient quantities of water, and moisturizing materials such as salts and the like that are approved for use by the authorities. local services in the country, and other amenities, and first aid equipment in workplaces. The Ministry monitors the extent of companies’ compliance with the noon work ban through inspection tours, and receiving reports from community members through the call center at 600590000 and through the Ministry’s website and smart application about any Wrong practices or violations, fines are applied to violating companies, amounting to 5,000 dirhams for each violating worker, and a maximum of 50,000 dirhams in the event of multiple workers.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, in cooperation with its partners, launches awareness campaigns and field visits to work sites to inform workers and employers of the importance of adhering to the provisions of the noon work ban during the months of its implementation.
