As part of the game’s 15th anniversary celebrations, Mojang also announced a Minecraft animated TV series on Netflixwhich does not yet have a release date or precise details but is already very interesting.
Furthermore, it is not the first time that the title in question lands on the video streaming service, given that previously we had also seen Minecraft: Story Mode, or the series of adventures by TellTale, which in the form of an interactive video were already visible on the video subscription.
The animated series will be created by Wild Brain, a Canadian studio specializing in the field which is already known for other titles such as Sonic Prime, Ninjago: Dragons Rising and Carmen Sandiego also on Netflix.
A computer graphics animated series
The Minecraft animated series will be created with the technique ofcomputer graphics animation and will likely feature the classic block video game style, as well as tie in somehow to the strange but profound lore of the Mojang title.
In fact, it is difficult to predict what it might be.
There are no details yet on the story or peculiar characteristics, but apparently it will be a “Original story with new characterscapable of showing the world of Minecraft in a new light”, according to the concise official synopsis.
Considering the possibilities offered by the Minecraft sandbox and the inherent creativity of the game, the possibilities are truly varied and we can expect a bit of everything. Meanwhile, the release date for the video game’s big Tricky Trials update has been announced, while there’s also a live-action Minecraft-focused movie currently in production at Warner Bros. and Legendary.
