We told you yesterday about our test behind the wheel of the Lancia Ypsilon, tested both in the 100% electric version and in the mild-hybrid version. However, these will not be the only versions of the Ypsilon available on the market: they will be available at launch, ok, but starting from May next year they will be joined by another variant of the B segment, namely the HF. Keep these two letters in mind, HP, because it is the acronym that we will find on the high performance versions not only of Ypsilon but also of all upcoming models which will be introduced by Lancia, from the new Gamma to the new Delta.
Lancia Ypsilon HF
The beating heart of the new Lancia Ypsilon HF will be a 100% electric engine 240 HP, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h which will take place in just 5.8 seconds. From a point of view technician and mechanic, we know that this new high-performance car will be characterized by a lowered stance, a widened track and aggressive and muscular shapes, elements that we will most likely also find on the other HF models in the Lancia range in the future.
From Gamma to Delta
On the bodywork of all these models the HF logo, great return of the historic signature of Lancia high-performance models introduced for the first time in 1960 on the occasion of the Geneva Motor Show. It was presented last March as a sort of reinterpretation of the historic logo which was made up of the capital letters HF, white on a black background, with four running red elephants at the bottom, in capital letters, and the writing SQUADRA CORSE, white on a background red. Is exactly the little elephant returns to be the protagonist on the new Lancia Ypsilon HF, even inside the passenger compartment: we find it, for example, in relief on the covering of the multi-functional table that distinguishes the new model.
From the road to the rally
“Lancia Ypsilon HF represents the high performance version of the first car of the brand’s new era which will arrive on the market in May 2025, while the Ypsilon Rally 4 HF symbolizes the brand’s return to rallying – commented Luca Napolitano, the CEO of Lancia – Lancia has always entered people’s hearts also for its own competitive soul, represented by those iconic models from its past that have made it the most successful brand of all time in the world of Rallying. And that sporting heart starts beating again today. And those same fans will be new Lancia customers of tomorrow.”
