The Dubai Media Council launched a book entitled “Dubai Media Pioneers,” which includes features from the busy careers of a group of leading media figures who have enriched local media work over years of work and giving, each in his field of expertise.
This came within the framework of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, to celebrate media pioneers who contributed to building the media sector in Dubai, within its various journalistic, television and radio tracks.
The book was launched in the presence of Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, and a number of Dubai media pioneers during the second day of the “Arab Media Summit 2024” organized by the Dubai Press Club, and within the activities of the first day of the 22nd Arab Media Forum.
The book sheds light on the most important stations in the professional lives of Dubai media pioneers, and introduces their career full of achievements in the media field, through which they contributed to establishing the foundations of a comprehensive media system that kept pace with the modern renaissance of Dubai and the economic, social and cultural transformations it witnessed during an important period in its history, with their tireless efforts to achieve… Their passion is to bring the media sector to a model that suits Dubai’s status as a global city that seeks today to be the best in the world to live, work and visit.
His Excellency Nehal Badri, Secretary-General of the Dubai Media Council, said: “In this initiative, we were inspired by the approach of Dubai and the UAE in loyalty to everyone who contributed to supporting its progress and achieving its renaissance, and everyone who participated in making achievements that helped advance the comprehensive development process, each in their field, and under the directives of His Highness. Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, a group of the most prominent media cadres who had a great role in establishing and advancing Dubai media was identified, in order to document features of their contributions and their journey with media work, as a gesture of appreciation and gratitude for the efforts and distinguished professional contributions they have provided over the years.
For her part, Hamda Al-Najjar, Senior Executive – Project Management, Dubai Media Council, confirmed: “The Council was keen for the book to serve as a reference that young generations can return to to learn about the experiences and success stories of a group of the most important Dubai media figures who participated in making its media, and they were credited with it.” In shaping its features, the book includes a list of Emirati innovators whose role we are proud of in laying the foundations upon which Dubai’s media is based today. It is important that the new generations be connected to the legacy of those who preceded them in various fields of work, the most important of which is media, in order to benefit from their experiences and imbibe what they carried. It is noteworthy that the Dubai Media Council aims to unify media efforts in the Emirate of Dubai to adopt a comprehensive vision and activate a development strategy aimed at strengthening Dubai’s position as a pivotal media center at all local, regional and global levels.
