In Villahermosa, Tabasco, Claudia Sheinbaum, candidate for the Presidency of Mexico for the “Let’s Keep Making History” coalition, launched a fervent call for Mexicans to defend the legacy of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the Fourth Transformation.
In his message, Sheinbaum stressed that the 4T is the present and the future of Mexico, while the opposition parties represent a past marked by corruption, privileges and electoral fraud.
During her speech, the Morena candidate and her allies emphasized the importance of the Fourth Transformation for Mexico, ensuring that it has brought profound and necessary changes.
“Our country has changed, it has been transformed and the people of Mexico do not want this transformation to end,” declared Clara Sheinbaum.
The former head of Government of Mexico City highlighted that the 4T represents a government committed to social programs, infrastructure that promotes prosperity, national sovereignty and the general well-being of all Mexicans.
Expansion of Social Programs and Rights
In front of a crowd of Tabasco residents, Sheinbaum presented his proposals for the future of the transformation, including the expansion of social programs such as pensions for women aged 60 to 64 and scholarships for boys and girls from preschool to high school in public schools.
He also stressed the need to strengthen access to health, promising significant improvements in the ISSSTE, the IMSS and the IMSS-Wellbeing.
“We are foolish in wanting public institutions to function,” said Sheinbaum, and criticized the neoliberal period that, according to her, sought to privatize health services.
Contrast with the Opposition
Claudia Sheinbaum drew a clear distinction between her movement and opposition parties. “They are corruption, we are honesty; They are authoritarianism, we defend democracy,” she proclaimed.
The former president of the capital reiterated her commitment to fighting corruption, protecting the rights of the Mexican people and ensuring free elections. “We are going to take our nation down the path of social justice, peace, security and shared prosperity,” she added.
At the event, Javier May Rodríguez, candidate for governor of Tabasco, reaffirmed his commitment to the Fourth Transformation in the state.
“We go with joy, with hope to the polls, because once again the victory will belong to the people,” declared the candidate.
In addition, Yolanda del Carmen Osuna Huerta, candidate for the Municipal Presidency of the Center, highlighted the importance of women in the transformation of Mexico, predicting that Claudia Sheinbaum will be the country’s first president.
Invitation to Vote
Claudia Sheinbaum concluded her intervention with a call to citizens to vote on June 2, emphasizing that each vote is crucial to continue and strengthen the achievements of the Fourth Transformation.
“We are going to preserve your legacy, dear President, and we are not going to betray the people of Mexico,” said the Morena candidate and her allies, alluding to López Obrador, and urged citizens to be part of this historic movement and build together a better future for Mexico.
