Dusk Golem, a leaker known in the panorama of Resident Evil games and Capcom productions in general, is back on X, where he revealed that the Japanese company is currently working on some remakes of Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil: Code Veronicawhile apparently Resident Evil 9 won’t be hitting stores anytime soon.
“If everything I’ve heard is correct, and I fully believe it is, there are remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica in development. At this point I’ve talked to several others behind the scenes, that’s something I’ve heard over a year ago, I think it would have leaked whether I said it or not,” Dusk Golem said.
Resident Evil 9 in late 2025, remakes of Resident Evil 1 and 5 are not in production
Resident Evil 9 would also be in development, and could make Capcom record revenues, but Dusk Golem suggests not to hold your breath waiting for an announcement during the summer, with the launch that could have been postponed between late 2025 and early 2026.
“First, I would cancel expectations on the announcement of Resident Evil 9 during the summer. The whispers that I have only now started to hear I believe are true and the announcement is further away than next summer,” said Dusk Golem.
On the contrary, the rumors that speak of remakes of Resident Evil 1 and 5 they would be inaccurate. “Regarding Resident Evil 1: The remake rumors are nonsense. As far as I know it’s not in any form of development right now. The Resident Evil 5 remake is also not in active development.”
Obviously we invite you not to take the information shared by Dusk Golem at face value, awaiting any announcements from Capcom in the coming months.
