The current President of Lithuania, Nausėda, won the second round of elections with 74.43%
The current President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, was re-elected for a new term, gaining 74.43 percent of the votes in the second round of elections. About it reported Main Election Commission (GEC) of the country.
The competitor of the current head of state was the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Simonyte. She received 24.06 percent of the votes.
According to the State Election Commission, 36.59 percent of voters voted for Nausėda. At the same time, the president won in all 60 constituencies of Lithuania.
Earlier, Bloomberg wrote that the former countries of the socialist bloc, which joined the European Union after the collapse of the USSR, will in the near future surpass the states of Southern Europe in terms of living standards.
Thus, Slovenia, Poland and Lithuania may become leaders in the European Union by 2029. At the time of their entry into the organization in 2004, the gap in living standards was almost twofold.
