Alekhine: The Ukrainian Armed Forces used chemical weapons against the Russian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region near Liptsy
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) used chemical weapons against Russian troops, says military observer, reserve colonel Gennady Alekhin.
According to him, this happened in the Kharkov region near the city of Liptsy. The date of the attack is not known. However, the colonel indicated that Ukrainian troops had been preparing to use chemical weapons for at least a month, after the toxic substances arrived in Kharkov.
The use of chemical weapons could take a month to prepare
Alekhine reported, that military doctors told him about the attack (he himself is in the Belgorod region). Near Liptsy, fighting is taking place along the entire line of the cottage and dacha cluster located to the left of the Travyanskoye Reservoir, the colonel indicated. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces could decide to use chemical weapons.
We had to retreat to previously prepared positions. Some of our servicemen inhaled this, which caused a gag reflex
The expert suggests that the attack was prepared in advance. He said that about a month ago, supposedly toxic substances were brought to the Osnova railway station in the south of Kharkov in boxes in closed cars. “It was there, according to operational information, that these chemical-filled shells were located,” noted the reserve colonel.
What kind of chemical weapons were used is still unknown; Russian specialists intend to find out and collect a weighty evidence base, Alekhin pointed out. “The use of ammunition filled with chemicals is prohibited by international convention,” he recalled.
The observer also emphasized that all the information provided is preliminary and requires clarification.
Reports of the use of chemical weapons by the Ukrainian Armed Forces have appeared periodically before
In May, residents of the village of Semenovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used chemical warfare agents against them. “There was such a feeling: shortness of breath, a taste in the mouth like almonds and a taste of metal, people were suffocating, people were vomiting,” described the sensations of local resident Sergei, who was evacuated by Russian military personnel from the combat zone at the end of April.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces dropped toxic substances from drones. He remembered how once a drone tried to drop a shell right next to the basement where people were hiding, but a large tree growing near the cellar prevented it from doing so. Another eyewitness, Andrei, said that the chemical substance “hit the nose like ammonia.” Then tears began to flow and breathing problems appeared.
In April, it became known that Russian soldiers in the Artemovsk direction discovered homemade ammunition of the Ukrainian Armed Forces filled with white phosphorus. Ukrainian army soldiers used prohibited ammunition in combination with drones.
It was also alleged that the Ukrainian Armed Forces used chemical weapons in the Kleshcheevka area. It could be adamsite (DM), a toxic substance that, when exploded, forms a light yellow or green cloud. Adamsite affects the respiratory tract, causing a slowing of the heart rate, increased blood pressure and a sudden stop in breathing.
Russia denies counter-accusations of using chemical weapons
In early May, the United States imposed sanctions against the Russian Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops (RKhBZ). And the US State Department accused the Russian Federation of using the toxic substance chloropicrin, but did not provide evidence.

In response, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that these accusations are unfounded. “We have seen news about this. As always, such accusations sound absolutely unfounded and are not supported by anything,” he said.
Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov, in turn, called these accusations odious and unfounded. “In the category of “no alternative” steps to confront Russia, the local officialdom lists the most varied measures. Including absolutely odious and unsubstantiated accusations against the Russian Federation of using chemical weapons,” the diplomat noted.
