A general malaise during the Supreme Defense Council at the Quirinale. This would be the cause that forced Minister Guido Crosetto this afternoon to resort to hospitalization for the second time in three months. The head of the Defense left the meeting in an ambulance, transported to San Carlo di Nancy, the same facility that had taken care of him last February due to pericarditis. There are currently no updates on the minister’s health conditions or medical bulletins from the hospital staff who treated him, but from what transpires from political sources it seems that some chest pains worried Crosetto and the ministers present at the summit with the President of the Republic. Having immediately consulted a doctor, the decision was made to head with a private ambulance to the Heart Center of the Roman hospital.
The news of the hospitalization arrived in the evening, at the end of a busy day for the minister and which ended with the summit at the Quirinale, as highlighted by Colle himself in a note. Crosetto should also have participated in the Question time in the Chamber tomorrow but in all likelihood he will be forced to postpone the institutional appointment in the Chamber. Last February 13 the Minister of Defense presented himself, alone and on foot, right at the San Carlo, also accusing on that occasion some chest pains. A suspected pericarditis which was then confirmed by subsequent clinical tests. Fortunately, the doctors did not register any heart damage, discharging the minister just a couple of days later.
The general conditions were defined as “good” with a state of “general well-being” which also allowed him to work during his hospitalization in the facility. Crosetto had already had some heart problems in the past, with a hospitalization dating back to 2013. Countless, and bipartisan, messages of a speedy recovery arrived from the political parties, from Matteo Salvini to Carlo Calenda, from Matteo Richetti to Francesco Lollobrigida. «Come on Guido! We look forward to seeing you as soon as possible!”, the message from the leader of the League. “I express my closeness to Minister Crosetto with the hope of a speedy recovery on behalf of myself and all of Action”, were the words of Calenda instead. «We wish the minister to recover soon and we expect to see him back on the field as soon as possible» underlines Forza Italia senator and vice president of the Senate Licia Ronzulli. A message of closeness also from the Aspmi military professionals union. “Come on, Mr. Minister, we need you.”
