Hockey|Markus Lindström worked as HIFK’s sales director and later as CEO.
Ice hockey club The CEO of the limited company that runs HIFK changes. HIFK announced on Tuesday that the CEO of HIFK Hockey Oy Markus Lindström will not continue as CEO.
According to the club, the employment contract was terminated by mutual agreement.
“I am grateful for the wonderful community and all the wonderful people I have met along the way. Together, we have succeeded in developing business and, in accordance with the spirit of the club, we have kept the focus on nurturing the community, bringing people together and taking care of them,” Lindström said in the club’s press release.
Lindström served as CEO of HIFK Hockey Oy from 2022 to 2024. Before that, he was the company’s sales director.
I follow Chairman of the Board Jaakko Koskela praised Lindström’s contribution.
“We want to thank Markus for his 12-year wonderful career for the club. We are extremely grateful to Markus for his uncompromising work contribution.”
Despite heavy investments, IFK’s last seasons have been competitive disappointments. HIFK last celebrated the SM league championship in spring 2011. The previous medal, bronze, was from spring 2021.
In the season that ended, HIFK was seventh in the SM league. It lost the quarterfinal series to the Pelicans 3–4.
