One of the basic rules in democracy is that, in all electoral competitionthere will always be a winner and a loser.
That is there is no winner without loser.
For this reason, democratic culture forces the parties in conflict to recognize, equally and with the same civility, both victory and defeat, as the case may be.

They think that Lopez Obrador will recognize an eventual victory of Xochitl?

Why would he acknowledge defeat, when López has all the power; when he orchestrated a state election; when he threw the full weight of the Palace against the opponents and when he incurred the daily violation of the Constitution to steal the election?
But there is more, for those who still have doubts. Let’s go step by step.
1.- The first electoral result that López Obrador publicly recognized was that of his candidacy for head of government of the then DF, where he resorted to all forms of fraud.
What few remember is that the biggest fraud of the candidate for head of government of the DF is that AMLO agreed with Ernesto Zedillo so that the Electoral Institute of the DF violated the constitution and endorsed his illegal candidacy.
Yes, López did not meet the residence requirement in the country’s capital – even his voter ID was from Tabasco – and therefore he could not be a candidate for the DF. He agreed to break the law in exchange for supporting Zedillo.
2.- The second election recognized by AMLO was, as you know, that of July 2018, which made him president, and where he deceived millions of citizens through a whole stratagem to make them believe that Peña Nieto’s was the worst government in the history.
Today it is clear that we were better, when they said we were worse.
3. But everyone should know that Obrador shouted: “Fraud, fraud, fraud!”, 30 years earlier, in the 1988 elections, where he competed for the government of Tabasco and was defeated by Salvador Neme Castillo.
4.- He tried again in 1994, where he lost again, this time against Roberto Madrazo. On that occasion he took the cry of “fraud!” to the extreme, since he organized exoduses, sit-ins and occupations of the capital’s Zócalo, in protest.
5.- And without a doubt everyone remembers the “outrageous” “Sit-in at Zócalo a Reforma”, in protest of the alleged electoral fraud of 2006, AMLO’s first foray into a presidential election.
Obrador’s insane hatred against Felpe Calderón dates back to that election, where the PAN crushed him at the polls despite the polls.
6.- And the last alleged fraud occurred in 2012, when López was defeated by Enrique Peña Nieto. It is worth remembering that the real fraud was Obrador’s candidacy since, in the PRD internal elections, the winning candidate was Marcelo Ebrard, whom López doubled down with promises that he never kept.
