Saleh Al Suwaidi, the UAE Ambassador to Brazil, said on the occasion of the operation of the first Emirati plane carrying humanitarian aid allocated to those affected by the strong floods in Brazil, that this humanitarian initiative came under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” following the phone call. Which His Highness conducted with His Excellency Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, which reflects the depth of the strategic partnership relations between the UAE and Brazil, the government and people, and highlights the UAE’s continuing efforts to respond quickly to natural disasters that occur in various parts of the world.
The UAE Ambassador stressed, in his statements on this occasion, that accelerating the provision of urgent humanitarian and relief aid and supplies to brotherly and friendly countries is part of the UAE’s foreign policy priorities stemming from the humanitarian values that characterize the national identity, explaining that the humanitarian gesture from His Highness the President of the State, “may God protect him.” Towards a friendly country like Brazil, it consolidates the values of tolerance, enhances the culture of brotherhood and humanity, and reflects what relations between countries should be like.
Al Suwaidi pointed out that, in the coming days, the UAE will fly two additional planes carrying more urgent aid, which will contribute significantly to alleviating the suffering of those affected, especially children, infants and other victims.
