Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili vetoed the law on foreign agents. This is reported by TASS.
“I vetoed the “Russian” law,” Zurabishvili said at a meeting with journalists, which took place in the building of the presidential administration of the republic.
On May 14, the Georgian parliament adopted the law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” in the third reading. The document requires registration in a separate register for those non-profit organizations and media outlets whose more than 20 percent of their income comes from abroad. 84 deputies voted for adoption, 30 people were against. After this, Zurabishvili promised to veto the law.
