This commitment by the coalition’s presidential candidate Strength and Heart for Mexico It was held within the framework of the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
During the event, Xóchitl Gálvez signed a decalogue in which he committed to strengthening the mechanisms that effectively guarantee the constitutional rights of people of sexual diversity.
Highlights of the decalogue include guarantees for social security, widow’s pensions and rights related to building a family.
“We are going to eliminate hate from this country, in everything, in everything. We are going to end this culture of hate that has not done us any good,” declared Gálvez to the applause of those in attendance, emphasizing his determination to eradicate discrimination and promote a culture of respect and inclusion.
Supervision and sanction of discrimination
Gálvez also highlighted the importance of supervising the work of the National Council to Prevent Discrimination (Conapred), ensuring that it will have real mechanisms to sanction any form of discrimination.
This supervision will focus on all areas, including labor, educational, political and economic.
“I want to tell you that in my government we will do everything necessary to end discrimination against LGBTTIQ+ populations. You are going to be part of my government,” he emphasized, underlining his commitment to include the LGBTTIQ+ community in his administration.
The candidate recognized the urgent need to train public servants, police forces and justice personnel to combat hate crimes.
In the last five years, at least 453 hate-motivated murders have been recorded, an alarming number that Gálvez pledged to significantly reduce during his term.
Improvements in the health system
Gálvez harshly criticized the management of the current federal government in matters of health, pointing out the dismantling of the health system. He promised to restore access to essential medicines for vulnerable groups, such as people living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
“In my term, I will seek to return medicines to the affected groups. We cannot allow our people to continue suffering from the lack of adequate medical care,” he declared firmly.
Xóchitl Gálvez concluded his speech by urging attendees to actively participate in the elections on June 2. “During my government, the LGBTTIQ + communities will have an ally. Go out and vote for life, truth, freedom and prosperity,” he urged, reaffirming his commitment to working for a more just and inclusive Mexico.
Traitor to the country
After his meeting with members of sexual diversity, in Mexico City. X’cochitl Gálvez affirmed that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is a traitor to the Homeland.
The candidate was questioned about the statements of López Obrador, who mentioned that the flag belongs to all Mexicans, including traitors to the country, regarding the fact that it will be raised in the Zócalo on the day of the Pink Tide rally.
“Well, he will be the traitor to the country because he is the one who betrayed the country, he betrayed the Mexicans by handing the country over to crime,” reproached the licensed senator.
“He is a President who greeted Chapo’s mother, he is a president who greeted criminals, I suppose in Badiraguato the seven times he went, and he is a President who freed Ovidio (Guzmán), if we talk about traitors to the homeland, because he would have to put himself in first place.
