In the coalition agreement concluded today, the maximum speed is apparently very important.
The country must be governed again, it cannot continue this way. Everyone’s words, always for as long as we can remember. There are complainants in every formation and time and time again we see that things are actually going well with an outgoing cabinet. But that’s besides the point.
We will soon be rid of that outgoing cabinet. There was a deadline and VVD, NSC, PVV and BBB appear to have met it. The last folds have been smoothed out and according to ‘The Hague sources’ (Source: Telegraph), there is also an intended prime minister. Ronald Plasterk must make Mark Rutte forget about the next 2 months. Uhh sorry, we mean the next 4 years, god willing.
But De Telegraaf also believes it can report something about the content of the agreement. It is striking, very striking, that the speed limit is apparently one of the issues with which the incoming cabinet wants to get its mark. Because that is of course how you can characterize this cabinet. The government thinks it will fix everything that was wrong with previous governments. So it is logical that the VVD takes its place..
But I digress.
‘130 driving on the highway will return as soon as possible‘ appears to be literally stated in the agreement. We certainly don’t disagree with that. But on this eve of the right-wing cabinet, let us think out loud what still needs to be arranged for this?
There’s a whole lot of damn plates that have to be changed. At Rijkswaterstaat, all leaves will probably be canceled at this time. Happy faces on more people than just in the Timmermans house.
And let’s not forget that we will never achieve a WLTP range in the Netherlands again. The door @wouter patented 3/5 rule can also be used in the dirt. Man, they don’t even know what the consequences of this measure are.
The sum after the elections led to a list for motorists that mainly included Exit Rekening and driving 130. So I’m curious to know what the coalition agreement says about Pay as you go (i.e. road pricing).
To be continued!
