The possibility of Sebastián Villa returning to Colombian football will not be at Atlético Nacional. The Antioquia club has a strong position regarding the interest that the player himself had publicly expressed.
“Many people know that I am a Nacional fan. My friends know it. I have spoken with my representative about that option. It’s a dream I’ve had since I was little and it gives me goosebumps,” the footballer said in an interview with the Cambio de Frente program, on the Telemedellín channel.
“I have spoken a couple of times about that option. He would be the happiest man in the world if he could wear the Atlético Nacional shirt. There is an option for him to go,” insisted the player, born in Bello (Antioquia) 27 years ago.
At the club they shut the door firmly on him. “We don’t see him in the team,” said a club source consulted by EL TIEMPO.
The reasons why Nacional categorically rules out the arrival of Villa
“No one disputes Sebastián Villa’s condition, but he has a couple of open cases, one of them with a sentence, for physical assault on ladies in Argentina and attempted rape and things of that type. Therefore, neither will he have a place in the national team, nor will he have a place in Atlético Nacional,” he added.
Vélez insisted that Villa’s legal problems make his arrival to the team impossible “They have not been interested, nor did they think, nor will they think about Mr. Sebastián Villa, whom they wish the best of luck, especially in legal and judicial matters because he still has an open file without being decided by the Argentine justice system,” he noted.
Villa left Argentina and signed with Beroe of Bulgaria, where he played 11 games and scored five goals. One of his colleagues fired him on his social networks and that generated rumors of his possible arrival in Colombia.
