In the new issue of the Japanese magazine Famitsu, Yosuke Saito reported that he is working not only with Yoko Taro but also with Keiichi Okabea composer who represents another constant element of the NieR series, which further foreshadows the possibility that this is a new chapter in the series.
“I’ve been talking about wanting to do something with Yoko and Okabe for a long time,” Saito explained in the interview published in the magazine. “I have something quite definite in the near futureso stay tuned.”

It therefore seems that the project is already well underway and could be announced and shown shortly, “in the not too distant future”, as reported by Saito in the interview.
